On Monday 11th January, 2021, Sr. KG kids wore colourful traditional attire as they celebrated the Virtual Sankranthi festival with great enthusiasm.
The children showed great interest in the cultural importance of the harvest festival. They were curious to understand why this harvest festival is celebrated in India. To get a clear understanding of the festival, children watched a video on farming and the celebration. Children were told how this festival was celebrated in different parts of the country under different names such as Lohri in Punjab, Pongal in Tamilnadu and Makar Sankranti in Telangana. To make the learning exciting, they made lovely colourful kites during the class. Children enjoyed speaking about the different mouth-watering sweets and dishes prepared during this festival.
