As part of their PBL inquiry ‘How to become an Entrepreneur’, the students of Grades IV to VI are gearing up to set up their online store. To understand the concept better, they had a guest lecture on 30th December on the topic ‘A-Z of Online Selling’ by Ms. Lisa Chakraborty, the founder and owner of – Tantutvaa, an online store for handloom and handcrafted sarees. Ms. Lisa aims to uplift the sorry state of the handloom industry by bringing weavers and artisans closer to the potentially huge market and by helping them revive and modernize the weaving techniques with the help of technology.
Through this lecture, students got to know the entire process of setting up an online store right from the formulation of the idea to how one can deliver a product. They also learned how drastically technology has changed the way we trade and leverage it to their advantage, especially under current circumstances. At the end of the lecture, the students had a chance to get their questions related to online retail answered. The students left the talk brimming with ideas and a better understanding of the online market.
