On 16th October 2020, Mr.Ashish Kumar from Tata Consultancy conducted a session for Grade VIII- X students about practical industry requirements along with academics.
Mr.Ashish Kumar from Tata Consultancy, multiple awardee of National Leadership programs enthralled his audience of 8th, 9th and 10th graders on 16th October 2020. He elaborated on the gap between Academia and Industry in India. He did this using his personal experiences as examples. He weaved through the maze of multiple and ambiguous options to give a clear insight into practical Industry requirements and the skills required for it. He stressed on the fact that we cannot escape the shadow of Technology and that it is absolutely necessary to be trained or at the very basic level to have an idea of the working tech. Failing to follow this critical step would render our services redundant in the future. He encouraged the students to be part of certification programs, professional membership programs, internships. He clearly stated the skills like problem solving, creative thinking, working as a team, willingness to learn new things and willingness to achieve at all costs are some of the common skills that employers are looking for in a resume’. He concluded the session with encouraging the students to always look for ways to solve problems instead of complaining about the problem. Overall, it was an extremely educative and much needed session.
