A 5-day story telling workshop was conducted for Pre Primary kids.
Storytelling is the oldest form of teaching. It bonded the early human societies, giving children the answers to the biggest questions of creation, life and afterlife.
It was a five days’ workshop conducted by the ‘The Reading Tree’ on 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th and 21st of August. In every session, we learnt something new and interesting.
We learnt the importance of storytelling, how to create the storytelling ritual at home, how to create an environment to tell a story and the kinds of stories to tell. We learnt the art of puppet making and create our own 20 words stories. We also heard healing stories, stories through movements (kinesthetic movement of teaching), finger rhymes, stories with visual clues and so on. The workshop was indeed an eye-opener for all of us as we now know how to bring the warmth, the connect, the magic and values through telling stories.
