A special activity was conducted for the learners of Stage-3 where they were asked to fold and stick A4 sheets to create various 3D shapes like cylinder, cuboid and a triangle. Then they were asked to pile up books on them to test which shape could hold those books for a longer period of time. Learners came up with the correct answer of cylinder. They also explained the reason that the load is distributed evenly in a cylinder due to the absence of edges. The square and triangle deform more easily because they shift the weight of the books to their edges and corners.
